XJNU develops out of distinct features and survives out of quality. Relying on the existing Central Asia research platforms, such as Kyrgyzstan Research Center, Manas Research Center, Rudaki Research Center, Central Asia Political Research Center, Central Asia Law Research Center,Central Asia Economy Research Center, Central Asia Cultural Education Research Center, Central Asia Ethnic Group and Religion Research Center,Central AsiaArt Research Center, Central Asia Literature Research Center,Central Asia Resource and Environment Research Center as well as three Confucius Institutes, thanks to scholars home and abroad, Central Asia research covers such aspects of politics, law, economy, language, culture, education, demographics & ethnic groups, resource & environment, art, sports and SCO, trying to develop groups of humanistic disciplines with distinct features, obvious advantage and strong capabilities.

In 2013, Central Asia Research Institute tried to attract high-end research and scientific talents, explore academic routes and gradually develop a research orientation with distinct regional characteristics through platform building, scientific guidance, preferential policy, mechanism innovation and fund support, which will pave a solid foundation for its healthy development in the future. After three to five years’ building, we strive to nurture a group of domestically and internationally well-known academic specialists and launch a batch of scientific research achievements with great academic value and practical significance to disciplinary development and even regional and national decision making, making Central Asia research the focus, innovation and foothold for XJNU theoretical exploration and disciplinary development. After five to ten years’ development, we aim to build it into an interdisciplinary theory innovation research, talent cultivation, information and advisory service center, taking the lead within Xinjiang, influential in China and well-known in Central Asia. As a result, XJNU will become the think tank for Xinjiang and even China-Central Asia issue and theory innovation for international relations.
