School of Physics & Electronic Engineering


The school consists of two departments and one lab, namely Department of Physics and Electronic Information Science and Technology, and an integrated laboratory. It offers three bachelor’s degree programs for Physics (normal education), Applied Physics (non-normal education) and Electronic Information Science and Technology (non-normal education), master’s degree programs of first-level discipline for Physics and of second-level discipline for Theoretical Physics and Photology, professional master’s degree program for Curriculum and Teaching Methodology in Physics as well as qualification for taking in Education Master Candidates (Middle School Physics Teaching and Scientific Research). There are altogether 848 students of various types and levels, with 619 undergraduates, 64 postgraduates and 165 students for adult continuing education. As a result, it has developed a comprehensive educational system with undergraduate and postgraduate education as the basis, combined with adult education, continuing education and short-term training.

      School of Physics and Electronic Engineering is well staffed with 53 teachers, with 6 professors and 12 associate professors; 10 doctors (12 doctor students included), 42 teachers with master’s degree or above. Moreover, one teacher receives special government allowances of the State Council, one is awarded with ProfessionalEthics Constriction Model in National Education System, one with Xinjiang Youth Five Four Medal, one with Xinjiang Youth Science and Technology Award, one with Xinjiang Outstanding Youth Science and Technology Talent, one with Xinjiang Excellent Expert with Outstanding Contributions, three with Xinjiang Tianshan Talent Cultivation Plan and one with Xinjiang Excellent Science and Technology Talent.

      The school has one Region key discipline, one university key laboratory under Ministry of Education in Xinjiang, one laboratory co-built by the province and ministry, university-level demonstration center for general physics experimental teaching, and excellent university-level teaching team for physical pedagogy. Moreover, it is an excellent host unit for rural primary and middle school backbone teachers’ training in Xinjiang under National Training Scheme, among which short-term training for middle school physics is the excellent training subject in Xinjiang.

Recent years, the school undertakes 26 projects of various types, with seven national projects, issued 129 papers in key academic journals home and abroad, with 48 SCI coverage, 7 EI coverage and received 11 provincial and ministerial awards. Two teachers were granted first class of scientific research distinguished post; two teachers were awarded second prize of scientific and technological progress in Xinjiang, one teacher was granted Region-level teaching expert, one with third prize in Region-level excellent teaching achievement award, two teachers with university-level teaching expert, four teachers with university teaching celebrity, and many other teachers with teaching and scientific research distinguished post.

      The school has the following laboratories for undergraduate teaching, including Thermal-Mechanical Teaching Lab, Electromagnetics Lab, Optical Lab, Modern Physics Lab, Electrotechnics Principle Lab, Signals and System lab, PLC Lab, Mobile Communication Lab, Computer Interface Lab, Simulation Circuit Lab, Communication Principle Lab, EDA Lab, Program-Controlled Exchange Lab, Digital Circuit Lab, High Frequency Circuit Lab, Optical Fiber Communication Lab and DSP Lab, for which equipment and experiment level is upgraded and improved each year. Moreover, there are four professional research studios and Electronic Technology Innovation Center for University Students. It also offers Vocational Qualification Certification for E-Commerce Engineer and keeps over 10,000 professional books and over 300 professional periodicals which have been subscribed for more than 20 years.

      Sticking to international development strategy, the school attaches importance to and actively conducts external cooperation and exchange. It jointly cultivates undergraduates and graduates with University of Science and Technology in China (1+2 model), and established cooperation with Chiba University in Japan to jointly cultivate postgraduates (2+1 model). Besides, the university sends teachers out for further study, domestic and international academic conference, or experiment in colleges and universities at home and abroad, and at the same time invites domestically and internationally well-known specialists and scholars to give lectures and conduct exchanges.
